This Venice home has long Westerly views from the end of a long street.  We designed around a challenge from the client:  Create a warm, modern home that maximizes light, privacy, and screens the house from the Southwest sunshine.  Large timber screens filter the direct sun and views while letting in the ocean breezes and light.  The warmth of the wood offsets the metal and stucco exterior, and loose rhythm of the screen reflects the quirky personality of the homeowners.
