This remodel of a long time family home created a larger open plan that shares space with the front and rear yards. Large decks and a roof garden fostered a connection to the outdoors from the main spaces. Lofted volumes and setbacks were clad with charred redwood and zinc roofing to foster a familiar yet unexpected form on this corner lot. This result retained the elements of the original home to retain the neighborhood scale and interaction.
